If you feel like your case was never investigated, you might be right.
Nye County Sheriff’s Office has a history of prematurely closing cases. In the instance of my children, they never even investigated or got the reports from Henderson or CPS with the pictures of the abuse before closing it as information only. The investigating officer went on a 2-week vacation and his superior closed it. The case was reopened again and closed again prematurely, and the pictures of the abuse still don’t exist in the file. The kids’ mental health provider was able to verify the abuse, and the medical notes were submitted, but the officers failed to ever question the abuser, read the report from Henderson, obtain the photos of the injuries, or get the information from CPS, who also recommended separation and arrest. The only reason my kids were separated was with the help of a CASA advocate who witnessed mom’s behavior and advocated to the judge in the family court. Now Mom is fighting back in court saying the report was false because NCSO failed.
Work Flow
Check the links above to find the report and workflow that matches the video below. NCSO did 0 investigation work and allowed my children to remain with their abuser 50/50 until CASA helped step in. With police reports, CPS, attorney’s and all the proof in the world, it meant nothing when NCSO refused to do their jobs.
Now Sheriff Joe McGill, refuses to admit the failure and put it on paper so I can protect my kids in court. Instead, he doubled down and challenged me to find failures within Nye County and NCSO.
If this seems familiar to you, begin records requests and hire an attorney because Joe McGill and the NCSO will try to cover it up by all means necessary including breaking more laws and/or discrediting you.
